DOLE – through the National Wages and Productivity Commission and Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards awarded some of the MSMEs in the Region 10 during the Productivity Olympics 2017.

Northern Mindanao Federation of Dairy Cooperatives – Highland Fresh Dairy was one of the Regional Winners from the Small Industry Category. Productivity Improvement Programs (PIP) include product development and improved marketing strategy in the year of 2014; mechanization of production operation and human resource management in the year of 2015; and improvement of production area and warehouse management, and automation of accounting system in the year of 2016.

Productivity Olympics is a biennial competition of best productivity improvement and gainsharing practices of Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). It is to raise awareness on the importance and benefits of productivity improvement to workers and enterprises.

Qualifications are to wit: a winner should be MSMEs; duly-registered with appropriate government agency; with productivity improvement in place for three years (2014-2016); compliant with the labor and occupational health standards; and never been a recipient of the Productivity Olympics award at the national winner.

There are only two criteria for being the Best in Productivity Improvement Programs which include Business Excellence and Resource Management.

10 Regional Winners from Region 10 were awarded for 2017 Productivity Olympics, namely:

  3. Cantaan Centennial Multipurpose Cooperative
  4. KASAMMA People’s Organization Dried Squid and Dried Fishery Products
  5. Northern Mindanao Federation of Dairy Coop (Highland Fresh Dairy Products)
  6. Syntactics, Inc.
  7. Bagong Lipunan Luncheonette
  8. Fernie-J Advertising Company, Inc.
  9. Loulens Bakeshoppe
  10. Mambajao Multipurpose Cooperative

Regional Finalists were:

  1. Bolisong Women’s Association
  2. Jerlin’s Condiments; and
  3. Mercy Community Hospital

Awarding Ceremony was held at Pearlmont Hotel on July 31, 2017. Furthermore, Regional Winners are qualified for the National level competition.
